Chicago Trip

Image
On Joe's birthday weekend we went up to Chicago saw some friends, went to a Cubs games, spent time with the Aunties, and Cameron got to do a couple of first for her! Here is Daddy and Cameron on Cameron's first train ride to get to Wriggly Field.  Cameron enjoyed being able to sit by herself and looking out the window. We went to the Cubs game because we were there  to support an old school friend of Joe's.  It was Safety Awareness Day at the Game! Chirstine lost her husband who was a Civil Engineer to a car accident while he was working.  Christine was able to throw out the "first pitch".  Cameron really enjoyed being at the game and she was excellent through the hot day!  We were even able to stay through the 7th inning! Our row wasn't too full so she had some room to move around and loved singing Take me Out to the Ball Game! On the way home she crashed on the train on Daddy's lap! Finally, we took a city bus to a Korean restau...

Mini Golf

State Farm Park is so nice and it is a great perk for their employees. I have posted before about the pool they have but a couple of weekends ago we were able to play the mini golf course they had with the Aunties. Cameron loves to play and we all had a great time!

Pre-School

First day of School!  Cameron was ready to go!  Here she is walking to the building and walking down the stairs to her room!  Practicing her name and then some free play! Cameron really enjoyed her first day of preschool at Sharing Tree. A small church here in town, where they do preschool plus, a little bible lesson too.  Once Cameron had finished practicing her name she didn't look back and was off playing! No tears from either Cameron nor Mom, so a really good first day.  Cameron will be going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and can't wait to make this a part of our routine. This is her first art work of the year! Cameron you are becoming such a big girl! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

August Fun with Trace and Audra

Image
It was a particularly wet week with Trace and Audra but we found some fun things to do! One day the kids had brought over boxes and we made robots out of them. Then on two separate days we went to the Children's Discovery Museum and it was a new experience for Cameron and she loved it!  Up left - inside the museum they had this neat climbing contraption that Cameron loved doing and didn't really want to get out. Up right and side left - The water station they had! Cameron and the kids love playing in the water! The kids painting on these windows! It was really neat and we had a lot of fun over two days of going to the museum!

New Car

Image
My 10 year old car a Hyundai Sante Fe, which has been a really good car.  We started having issues with it about 2 summers ago and ended up with a brand new engine and a new catalytic converter.  Then the power steering went out so had to fix that, then the other catalytic converter wasn't working but we never replaced that, and finally an air bag sensor needed to be fixed.  We decided that enough was enough and started looking at new cars.  We were initially going to get a van but in the long run we both decided that we really didn't need what a van offers and we really liked the idea of having better gas mileage. In comes the GMC Terrain. This car gets 32/MPG highway!  We are super excited about that due to our long drives to NC that we make at least twice a year!  We have a 7in touch screen display for navigation and music.  It is much roomier than my Sante Fe and the back seat actually moves 8 inches to give us a little more cargo space. We...
