Simpson's Journey

We finally had our first real snow event! We have had some snow but nothing significant. We were suppose to have this big ice storm Wednesday before Christmas and it ended up being just rain, which we were so thankful for! It rained all day Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday, Christmas day, before it changed to all snow. It started snowing Christmas evening and then all day Saturday and Sunday morning and we ended up with about 5 to 6 inches of snow on the ground! Too bad Cameron is still too small to go out in it, maybe if she was walking already we might have gone out but she will just have to wait until sometime in 2010 to really experience snow. I wanted to capture our first big snow in pictures so here they are!

Finally it is Christmas! Cameron was already awake before 7am and was ready to go! So we nursed and had breakfast and then got ready to open up our presents. It is tradition with Joe's side of the family to give everyone their gifts and then we take turns opening the gifts. So we sat in a circle and that is what we did and I helped Cameron open hers. Of course she was more interested in the paper than what she actually received. Auntie Becky wanted a big basket for her blankets and Cameron sat in it for a bit. Cameron didn't get to open up all of her presents because she was so tired before we were done and ended up taking a nap around 9 am. I know I am behind on blogs when it is past Christmas and I am getting ready to post a blog about Cameron messing with the presents under the tree. So I am in the kitchen cleaning up after lunch one day early last week and I didn't know where Cameron was. With her crawling, and crawling fast, I don't always know where she is if I am busy doing something. So anyway I called for her and turned around and saw her in the dinning room with the Christmas tree and presents and saw this. So of course I ask Cameron what she is doing and she gives me this face. So of course I had to get a picture or two of her being sneaky about being at the presents and she was also patting one of her presents. Smart Girl!

What Cameron girl is already 11 months?!!! It doesn't seem right! How can that be we just brought her home from the hospital, didn't we? Well she is 11 months old as of last Sunday and this Friday will be her first Christmas! Cameron is crawling like a champ and into everything she can get her little hands on. We let her explore to a certain extent, it is so neat to see her explore her little world. What else is Cameron doing...well she is eating lots and lots more of adult food and we have started the weaning process. Cameron is drinking whole milk during her snack time now and she does a great job of it. Cameron has learned to put things inside of other things and can stack her rings back onto the holder. She loves to mess with Flair and gets upset when we don't let her play with his food. Cameron still puts everything in her mouth including now her diapers, not dirty ones clean ones. This post is really late since we have had our Christmas tree decorated a week after Thanksgiving. See how much of a slacker I am :) Anyway....Cameron really didn't help much but really how much can a 10 month old do? We did let her "help" put on an ornament with each of us to let her do something to the tree. We put her in her high chair and let her watch us put the tree decorations on. I have been impressed that Cameron really hasn't shown too much interest in the tree. Granted it is in our dining room since there is no room in our living room for it so it is out of sight. I do once a day take her to the tree and show her some ornanments and talk about it. Of course, she wants to touch it and I tell her that we can look at it but not touch it :) We can't wait until Christmas morning to see what Cameron does with the gifts she is getting! I hopefully won't take as long to to that blog:)

Cameron loves to play with Flair. It is fun to watch Cameron follow Flair around trying to take his toys away from him and then to give them back. Cameron loves getting kisses from Flair and giving him kisses. Sometimes I think Cameron rather play with Flairs toys than her own.

I know I know, I am horrible! I have become way to slack on doing my blogging for those of you who check back often I apologize for my slackness. I make a dish called Pasta Bake and it is spiral pasta with spaghetti sauce, smoked sausage and mozzarella cheese. Cameron enjoys eating it! So during this dinner she had a ball with it and I couldn't resist taking some pictures of her and sauce on her face. A couple of pictures looks like she is drugged but she is just tired. We started out on Saturday before thanksgiving and we stopped in Knoxville TN for the night. On Sunday morning we had breakfast with our friends Courtney and Greg Shaffer and they were able to meet Cameron girl for the first time. And I was a big dummy because I didn't get any pictures of them :( It was great seeing you guys and having breakfast with you both! Then on to Joe's Grandparents in Spindale NC for a couple of days. It was great seeing the great banana, great pawpaw, and great uncle kenny..and thanks Cathy and Rick for coming too! Then on to Winston Salem NC to see my family for Thanksgiving! We had a great time there with Harmi, Pawpaw, and Emo Kim! We also got to see my grandmother and some friends of the family. Cameron got to spend some good quality time with my family! My sister Kim did the whole Thankgiving spread and she did a fabulous job with the entire meal! Thanks again mom and dad for watching Cameron while I got to go see 'New Moon' with Kim and...
