Joe's 30th

Image
So Joe turned 30 this past Sunday and we had a blast! We drove up to his parents on the Thursday before his birthday and that is when we surprised him with tickets to go see the CUBS play on Friday! Joe has never been to a Cubs game and was totally excited. The other surprise I had for Joe was to have the board at the Cubs game say happy birthday! Joe was so surprised that it had his name on the board! On Saturday we went out for dinner to celebrate Joe and his Mom's birthday and on Sunday we had a little cook out with some of our friends so that we could do something ON Joe's birthday! Of course, keeping with the Cubs theme for the weekend, I had a Cubs cake for Joe. It was a long weekend but well worth seeing Joe's surprised face with the tickets and his name on the Cubs board! I love you Joe!

Our Pregnancy Journey

I wanted to take some time to write about our journey to becoming pregnant. As some of you know, we have been trying for quite some time. It goes as far back as 2002 when we decided to start "trying" to have children. Well after 3 years of irregular cycles and visits with an infertility doctor did we find out in July of 2005 that I have small cysts on my ovaries. We moved shortly after that to IL in Aug of '05 and my new OB/ GYN doctor did a couple of outpatient procedures to see if there was anything internally wrong. Everything was clean, normal what have you, except he told us that I had Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS . The doctor started me on a medication and after 6 months I started having normal cycles! Well at the end of October beginning of Nov of '06 I found out I was pregnant! You wouldn't believe how happy Joe and I were! My doctor didn't want to see me until I was 8 weeks pregnant to have my very first prenatal visit. So over Thanksgivi...

Knitted Booties

Joe's mom knitted these for our new bundle of Joy! Yes they are different sizes so when Cameron grows out of the cream ones she can wear the green ones! Thanks so much Mom Simpson!! I love them!

Joe, I and our Families

Image
So I decided to do a little bit about our families so that everyone can get to know us a little bit better. The second picture is of Joe's family. Beside me is Christy, then Dad and on the couch is Mom, Becky and then Joe. I didn't have a "family" picture of my side but I still had photos! My parents are adorable and yes my mom is Korean! A lot of people don't know that I am half Korean! My sister Kim is great, I just love my family! Joe and I are both originally from NC and now live in Illinois. I love the winters! I know crazy but cold is just cold pass like 20 degrees. We met in college and started dating about a month after Joe started college. Most of you know that I am a year older than him and believe me he doesn't let me forget it! We are so glad to be pregnant again and that God is doing great things in our lives! We thank Him everyday for this pregnancy, we are truly blessed to be finally starting a family of our own!
