Joe's mom and sister Christy came down on Monday before Cameron was born and stayed the entire week. Joe's dad and sister Becky couldn't get all that time off of work so they came in on Tuesday for the birth left Wednesday evening and came back on Saturday. Then on Sunday of this week everyone left but Mom and she left Thursday. Everyone just loves her!

Cameron's Entrance to the World

CAMERON NICOLE SIMPSON! I was in the hospital after midnight on Tuesday Jan. 20th, the nurse started me on Pitocin. I was still only 80% effaced and only 2 cm dilated. My blood pressure was still high. Through out the night they kept on checking my blood pressure and increasing the pitocin. Around 5AM or so my doctor was really worried about my blood pressure so insisted on starting me on the epidural. Joe and I really discussed this and took us about 40 min to decide that fine if this will help with the blood pressure then fine. Got the epidural around 6 am and at 7:20 am my water broke on its own! I had dilated to about 4 cm and Cameron's head was completely in my pelvis or as they say zero station. My doctor came in several times and didn't like the way I was progressing. Around, I think 12:30pm she said that we might need to do a C-Sect but would make the final decision around 2pm. So around 1:30 I had still had not dilated any more than the 4 cm and Cameron's...

Last Post before Cameron Arrives

Hello to all! I had my final doctor's appointment today before we go into the hospital very late on Monday night. I actually didn't get to see my doctor just the nurse but things are still fine. Cameron is moving a lot and doing her thing. My blood pressure is still up a little so I still need to be careful with my sodium intake and rest as much as possible. I am 80% effaced which means my cervix is softening nicely and I am a loose 1 cm dilated. We found out what the procedure will be for going into the hospital on Monday night. We will get checked in, get an I V, put me on the monitor, and give me Pitocin, which will make the contractions start. I will also have some antibiotics because I was positive for the Beta Strep Test. My doctor will come in the morning around 7 or 8 and break my water if it hasn't broken naturally. According to the nurse I will have Cameron on Tuesday because my doctor won't let it my labor last 24 hours. The nurse also said that if I am...

Here comes Cameron!

So I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday (1-13) and my blood pressure was still high for my doctor. My doctor told me that she wanted to do one more sono to see how the baby was doing and was going to set up a time for next week to be induced. Cameron is a healthy 6 lbs 12 oz right now and is head down. I have another appointment on Friday to check blood pressure and to have questions that Joe and I have be answered about our induction. Then on Monday night, just after midnight, Joe and I will be going to the hospital to start the process of having our little girl! We are excited, nervous, and unsure about what is going to happen. We have been waiting for this moment for so long, and as most of you know, we have gone through a lot to even get this far. Our God is amazing and we are so blessed to have Cameron come into our lives! I will do one more post before she is here to give you an update of Friday's appointment and let everyone know how things are going to run for our ...

Finished Nursery

So here is our finished product! We used the dresser for a changing table and above it we have Isaiah 43 passage and a little note to Cameron. Joe really wanted her initials so we did that in the same color as the dresser over her bed. We bought a shelf and painted it the same color as the dresser and have the two stuffed animals that she got for gifts a dog and elephant and also a pair of booties that Joe's mom made. We received two of this same blanket and decided to use one as decoration to go along with our Classic Pooh theme. My nursing corner with our glider a small table that holds the monitor system and a Tigger. I have a boppy that is beside the chair in case I want it to help during nursing time. Our new valence over the window just to add some decor to the window area.

Latest update

I had another doctor's appointment today and my blood pressure was still a little high. The nurse took it twice before I saw my doctor and then once more before I left. The third time, was the best it was 122/76 which was much better than the second one at 133/88 and I don't know the first. Saw my doctor and she still wants me to rest as much as possible, but I can do small chores around the house. I can put a load of laundry in and then rest in between the loads that kind of thing. Which I am glad that I am not restricted to bed rest because the house needs to be cleaned. So I figure I would do a little at a time and rest/ put my feet up in between things. My doctor also did an exam and said that I was 1 cm dilated. So the process has started:) On another note, we received our stroller system today! Thanks Mom and Dad Simpson!:) So the only thing left to receive is our glider rocker which, according to the tracking system, is in IL but not at our home yet.

Bed Rest YUCK!

I have been on bed rest since this past Tuesday. I had a doctor's appointment and my blood pressure was really high and my doctor told me that she wanted me on best rest, cut out sodium, when watching TV and such be on my left side, and that I needed to come back on Friday. Thankfully my doctor is not concerned about anything else, and she did comment on how big Cameron is. So yesterday I went back and my blood pressure had come down considerably, however, my doctor wasn't there so the nurse told me that I had to continue to be on bed rest until I see my doctor this coming Tuesday. I also was hooked up to the fetal monitor which was really neat. Joe and I were able to hear the heart beat, see it on the chart and see how the fetal movements and the higher heart rate were in sync. I have not enjoyed being on bed rest at all there are things that I still want to get accomplished before Cameron comes. Thankfully I am not totally confined to my bed I can get up to shower, and ha...
