Sweet Potatoes and More

Image
Cameron is really getting the hang of things when it comes to eating. For lunch the other day we had some sweet potatoes and rice cereal mixed with apple sauce. All foods are home made and I have enjoyed doing it! Cameron will eat the amount of food that I put in front of her! Right now she is eating peas, apples, bananas, and sweet potatoes. I have tried green beans and was unsuccessful but we will be trying those again real soon. We start peaches on Sunday (9-13) and I hope that it will be as successful has her other fruits. I am still working on serving sizes. Right now for lunch I have dropped the rice cereal and doing an ounce of veg and an ounce of fruit and whatever new food item we are trying. Dinner is 3 tbl of rice cereal, an ounce of veg and an ounce of fruit. Cameron eats is all! So other moms out there should or could she eat 2 oz of veg and fruit per meal? (that is what a serving size from a jar would be) Joe and I are definitely thinking of going that route just wa...

Banana flavor puffs

We have started her on some puff finger foods to eat while mommy and daddy have dinner. Cameron does well with picking them up and almost getting them in her mouth. Well we were at Joe's parents and it wasn't quite dinner time for her but we decided to let her have some puffs. Cameron was so cute she would have Dad put it in his hand and then instead of using her fingers she would just bend down and pick it up with her mouth! Too cute! What a silly girl!

How are solids going?

As of the last solids post or should I say the first solids post we started with green beans. Well we have tried and liked apples and peas! Yes, that is right, I said peas! I have put the green beans on the back burner and will bring them out later. I was a little discouraged when she wouldn't eat the green beans because I like them a lot. It took her a while to get use to the applesauce but only two days for her to really get into the peas. Tonight for dinner she had an ounce of peas, an ounce of applesauce and 1 1/2 tablespoons of rice cereal! That is a lot of food for our girl to eat and she did such a great job. I am starting bananas tomorrow hopefully she will like them too. I have sweet potatoes next up for our veggies and then after that peaches. I will update, hopefully with pictures, for the next solids edition:)

Rice Cereal

Image
Ready..........................................Set..................................................Eat! Ok so she didn't really care for it! I mixed the rice cereal with formula that I had that was free and we didn't know specifically if it was the formula taste that she didn't like, the texture, the consistency or just the rice cereal. So we didn't push too hard. Now on to day two of eating. Way much better! We used water instead of formula and she seemed to like it! Cameron didn't spit too much out, actually she swallowed a lot more that I thought she would. She even had smiles for her mom and dad! Towards the end she wanted to help she would grab the spoon and pull it towards her mouth! I am glad that we used water but again was the consistency better this time or was it the formula? Obviously it wasn't the rice cereal since she actually ate it. Who knows we are going to keep trying and see how things go!
