18 Months

It is hard to believe that Cameron is already 18 months old! It is also hard to believe that it is almost August! Cameron is growing and learning so much. We had her 18 month Dr. appointment yesterday and the her doctor is still concerned about her weight. Cameron weighs 19 1/2 lbs and is 30 inches long. Cameron is still below the 3% line on the charts. Joe and I are doing what we can to make her eat but we can't force the food down her throat. Joe and I both believe that she is healthy and that she just has a pretty high metabolism. Joe and I were both small as children so we are not quiet as concerned yet. We go back at the beginning of October to have a weight check done on her. Also, the doctor is concerned with her speech development. He mentioned doing early intervention with Cameron. Cameron is still not talking, she doesn't even say mama or dada. Cameron does however, babble a lot! And she talks to her toys and other such things like the phone. Cameron understands us well and follows 2 step directions easily. Joe and I are not yet concerned about her speech yet, now if she is two and still only babbling then we will be a bit more concerned. So to you other moms out there when did your children start talking and if you did do early intervention when did that start.

Nathan started saying understandable babbles around 7 mons and his first official word was byebye around 9 months, but he'd said "ba" for ball and bailey a month or so before. He started talking in leaps and bounds from that point on. I think all kiddos learn language at different rates. Our neighbor didn't utter a word until he was over 3 but it was simply because he didn't want to or have to talk. He's an honor student and performs at the top of his class. We did do early intervention with Nathan around 4 months because of his delay in motor skills and his stiff neck, and I'm sooooooo thankful we did. I think it was one of the best opportunities for me and for Nathan and we did PT, OT, speech until he was about 16 months. I highly encourage it if you can get into a program. It was so much fun!!!!!!!!! If Cameron's hearing is fine, don't worry, her language will develop. Early intervention is an awesome thing though and I'd recommend it hands down. Are you guys signing with her? That really helped Nathan as well! :)

Fall Vacation

Today Joe and Todd went to Fogcutter and watched the Bears game while Kim and I went shopping. We meet up with the boys and went to dinner at On the Border, a great Mexican restaurant, and then back to downtown Chicago to go see the Blue Man Group. We had a fun time there at Briar Street Theater and the show was very entertaining. At the end of the show they had everyone pass tons of streamers from the back of the theater to the front and through all of the paper I briefly lost my engagement ring. Luckily a girl found it who was sitting right behind me! I thanked her a million times and thanked God for letting us get the ring back. After wards the Blue Men we out in the lobby and we were able to take pictures with them! What an enjoyable night!

15 months

Joe and I can't believe that we have a 15 month old on our hands! Cameron girl is growing so fast and becoming such a sweet little person. She is very loving to us and is willing to go to our neighbors at any point and time. Cameron loves playing outside, going for walks, and playing with her friend Connor. She is still into books and will willing sit with them by herself or brings them to me for me to read to her. Cameron lights up when Joe gets home from work and will sign/ask for Daddy often through out the day. Cameron has become more attached to her blanket everyday. Cameron will rarely get out of her crib these days without clinging to her blanket. She doesn't need to take it with her when going places, she just likes having it with her right after a wake up time be it in the morning or after naps. At Cameron's doctor appointment she only weights 17 lbs, she only gained 8 oz in three months. The doctor wanted to do a urine sample to check for urinary track infection ...
