How are solids going?

As of the last solids post or should I say the first solids post we started with green beans. Well we have tried and liked apples and peas! Yes, that is right, I said peas! I have put the green beans on the back burner and will bring them out later. I was a little discouraged when she wouldn't eat the green beans because I like them a lot. It took her a while to get use to the applesauce but only two days for her to really get into the peas. Tonight for dinner she had an ounce of peas, an ounce of applesauce and 1 1/2 tablespoons of rice cereal! That is a lot of food for our girl to eat and she did such a great job. I am starting bananas tomorrow hopefully she will like them too. I have sweet potatoes next up for our veggies and then after that peaches. I will update, hopefully with pictures, for the next solids edition:)

A Leaf

So I was outside the other day with Cameron and she is very interested in trees. (We have 4 in our yard) I decided to pluck a leaf off and see what she would do with it. Too funny! Everything goes in her mouth these days!

Green Beans

Ok so I am taking a stab at making my own baby food. So I started with green beans, bananas, apples, and peas. I couldn't get the green bean as smooth as I wanted so any suggestions from those of you who did make your own green beans please let me know. So Cameron started off with eating green beans. Ready for the first bite. And not so much! The second day I tried it this is what she looked like after a little bit in her mouth. To me that is priceless! Needless to say she didn't eat the green beans not even the jar that I bought from the store. We started apples yesterday with no success but we will try again for lunch today and see how that goes!

Happy Birthday Joe!

Ok, so I know that I am a day late for this post but blogging yesterday was just not happening. So happy birthday to a wonderful husband, father, friend, spiritual leader of our family, and the most amazing man I know! Thank you Joe, for working so hard and putting in the long hours so that I may stay at home with our precious girl Cameron! Thanks for coming home and playing with your girl even if you have had a rough day at work and is tired! Thank you for doing the small chores around the house when Cameron is occupying my time. I love you and appreciate you so much! I am thankful that God has brought us together going on 13 years in September of knowing each other and 9 years of marriage next February. You are amazing!

Rollin'

Image
Cameron loves to roll, but she tends to get stuck against the walls. It really is too cute to watch her just roll over and over right in the same spot until she gets upset. This was the first time she was on the kitchen floor. I didn't want to stop her but the floor was dirty. So I prayed that she didn't get a notion to lick the floor, thank goodness she didn't! We call her our rollie pollie and as long as there is nothing in her way she will continue to roll!

7 Months Old

Image
Where does the time go? Joe and I can't believe that Cameron is already 7 months old! Cameron is getting so big! What is Cameron doing now? Well, Cameron is sitting up really well once she is in the sitting up position. She still can't do it by herself yet but we are sure that will be coming soon. Her new favorite thing is to stand now. Once she is sitting she will grab my hands to pull her to a standing position, too funny :) While in the standing position she moves her legs, I do hope that she crawls before walking but whatever. Cameron has been eating rice cereal now for a full month and we start veggies tomorrow, can't wait for those pictures we are starting with green beans yum! She loves to roll and roll and roll! If she gets stuck she will just continuously turn on the spot until she gets upset. Not crawling yet by maybe she will soon. She gibber jabbers a lot one of her favorite things to say is nay nay nay! (Makes me think of Nathan Katie:) )She usually says that...

Simpson Update

Cameron and I spend Monday - Thursday doing our thing and then we get Friday - Sunday with Joe. Cameron really enjoys spending time with Dad! Cameron gives him tons of smiles! We are just moving along this journey of life and spending great quality time together. So the other day Cameron was down for a nap and she woke up crying about after an hour nap. Which sometimes does happen so after letting her cry for a bit I went up to check on her and had to immediately go back down stairs for my camera because I saw this Cameron had turned herself 180 degrees and had the blanket wrapped around her and she was stuck! Our silly girl! So of course I had to take a couple of pictures of her! She even has a tear in this one! So feeding has been going well. We are still on rice cereal but she is doing so well! We just started adding breakfast this week so now we are eating rice cereal three times a day. Tonight she even started to really use her tongue to press the cereal up to th...
