24 week Dr. Visit

Image
My 24 week appointment let us do another sonogram! It was awesome to see better pictures of Cameron this time around. And yes, she is a girl! Cameron weighs just over 1 lb and she is as strong as ever. Cameron's bones look good and healthy, we were able to see the brain, stomach and heart. The heart is beating around 146 beats per minute. Cameron is growing by leaps and bounds! It is truly amazing to see how much our little girl has grown since the last visit! My doctor says everything looks fine and my weight and blood pressure are good. Cameron was still a little shy when it came to really seeing her, as far as showing us that she is a girl but Joe said that it is good because she is learning to be modest!  I go back on Nov. 11th for my 28 week appointment, which I get to do the glucose test, then I start going every 2 weeks. On my 30 week appointment I will have another sonogram done and that will be my last unless complications arise. I am glad that we got ...

Joe and Cameron

Joe felt Cameron kick this morning! It was only once and not very strong but he still felt it! We were in bed cuddling and I was on my right and his hand was on my belly. I don't normally feel Cameron too much on my right so I turned over to my left and placed his hand on my belly where I usually feel Cameron. And sure enough in about a couple of minutes Joe felt her! I can't wait until Joe can feel her more as she gets stronger with her kicks, jabs, pokes what have you.

The Nursery

Image
Well we have finished painting and putting up our Classic Winnie - the -Pooh border up in our soon to be nursery! Joe and I had a fun time doing this project together! We enjoy spending time together as it is and being able to do the nursery together just made having little Cameron that much more special! We had always liked the idea of having a yellow room with a Pooh border but decided to go a different way. Once we found the border we liked the best, Classic Pooh, we decided to go with a green. Keeping it neutral so that if and when we have another baby we won't have to redo the nursery. It was fun picking out the shade of green that we liked best with the border, and once we did and painted we were very pleased with the outcome. And now with the border finally up we think that our nursery looks good!

90% Sure

Hello to all! Joe and I had our sonogram appointment today in hopes that we would be able to find out the sex of our baby. Well....the nurse was only 90% sure that it is a GIRL! Only 90% because the baby was upside down and 'she' was facing down. "Her' head was down near my bladder and 'her' feet are up at the top of the stomach. The image on the machine was so fuzzy that we really couldn't tell what we were looking at. We did see the spine and the top of the head. The nurse showed us the femurs and the stomach.. So no measurements, no new pictures and only 90% sure of the sex, however, she was able to get a weight on the baby and 'she' is 11.5 oz. We did get to hear the heart beat again and it was 152 beats and very strong! Good news is that we get to go back in 4 weeks to do the sonogram all over again! We go back on Oct 14th at 3:00pm and we are going to hopefully see and get the measurements that the nurse needs and be 100% sure that the b...

Yeah! Finally feel the Baby!

I finally really felt the baby! I was at work on Friday and felt this fluttery thing in my stomach! I knew it was the baby! It was awesome to finally realize that what I was feeling was the baby! I don't feel it consistently yet, but I am sure that will come. Joe and I are anticipating next Friday when we get another ultrasound done and hopefully find out if our baby is a boy or a girl! Of course, I will blog about that as soon as we get home!

Joe's 30th

Image
So Joe turned 30 this past Sunday and we had a blast! We drove up to his parents on the Thursday before his birthday and that is when we surprised him with tickets to go see the CUBS play on Friday! Joe has never been to a Cubs game and was totally excited. The other surprise I had for Joe was to have the board at the Cubs game say happy birthday! Joe was so surprised that it had his name on the board! On Saturday we went out for dinner to celebrate Joe and his Mom's birthday and on Sunday we had a little cook out with some of our friends so that we could do something ON Joe's birthday! Of course, keeping with the Cubs theme for the weekend, I had a Cubs cake for Joe. It was a long weekend but well worth seeing Joe's surprised face with the tickets and his name on the Cubs board! I love you Joe!

Our Pregnancy Journey

I wanted to take some time to write about our journey to becoming pregnant. As some of you know, we have been trying for quite some time. It goes as far back as 2002 when we decided to start "trying" to have children. Well after 3 years of irregular cycles and visits with an infertility doctor did we find out in July of 2005 that I have small cysts on my ovaries. We moved shortly after that to IL in Aug of '05 and my new OB/ GYN doctor did a couple of outpatient procedures to see if there was anything internally wrong. Everything was clean, normal what have you, except he told us that I had Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS . The doctor started me on a medication and after 6 months I started having normal cycles! Well at the end of October beginning of Nov of '06 I found out I was pregnant! You wouldn't believe how happy Joe and I were! My doctor didn't want to see me until I was 8 weeks pregnant to have my very first prenatal visit. So over Thanksgivi...
